Booking Terms
Please read this information carefully before proceeding with an enquiry or booking.
1. Operator and scope
Max Adventures is a brand operated by M R Tour & Travels, a sister concern of Houseboat Holidays Pvt. Ltd. These general terms apply to use of the website, enquiries and bookings for Max Adventures unless a booking confirmation contains additional or more specific terms for the selected tour format.
2. Enquiry is not a booking
Sending a website or WhatsApp enquiry does not reserve a seat, date or private arrangement. A booking is confirmed only when the team expressly confirms it after the applicable payment and required process are completed.
3. Availability and price
Availability and price are date- and tour-specific. A website message, earlier rate, advertisement or verbal discussion does not override the final written quote/confirmation. The applicable inclusions, price, payment schedule and booking validity will be stated before payment.
4. Shared capacity and children
Shared Day Tour departures carry a maximum of 15 guests. Every child requires a paid booking and must be included in the guest count. The applicable date-wise price is confirmed before booking. Parents/guardians are responsible for supervision and compliance with safety instructions.
5. Pickup and timing
Shared pickup is available only from the scheduled points and approximate times stated for the confirmed Day Tour. Guests should report approximately 15 minutes before pickup. The vehicle cannot be required to wait where delay would affect other guests, boarding, permissions, journey timing or the permitted programme.
Times are approximate and can change because of traffic, road conditions, weather, tide, authority instructions and operational requirements.
6. Itinerary and route
Published itineraries are representative. The operator, crew or guide may change route, watchtower, sequence, duration or timing for safety, tide, weather, permission, authority instruction or local operating conditions. No particular watchtower, creek or stop is guaranteed unless expressly confirmed and still permitted on the date.
7. Tuesday programme
Max Adventures operates on Tuesdays. The permitted forest and sightseeing programme may differ from other days and is confirmed before booking according to current Forest Department instructions, tide, weather and operating conditions.
8. Shared Day Tour / forest inclusion
Where the forest-permit programme is confirmed, the applicable forest-permit arrangements and Forest Guide are included in that programme. They are not automatically included where the Day Tour operates through an alternative route that does not require forest permission.
9. Forest permission and minimum participation
Certain Sundarban sightseeing routes and watchtower areas require Forest Department permission, and the number of boats that may receive such permission for a particular date is limited.
For the Max Adventures Shared Day Tour, the forest-permit programme is arranged when at least 9 guest slots are confirmed.
Reaching 9 confirmed guest slots does not guarantee forest permission. Permission remains subject to availability, applicable authority approval and operating conditions.
If fewer than 9 shared-tour guest slots are confirmed, forest-permit availability for the date is exhausted or unavailable, permission is declined or withdrawn, or authority, tide, weather, safety or operational conditions require a change, Max Adventures may operate an alternative Sundarban river and mangrove route that does not require forest permission.
A Forest Guide is included only where the forest-permit programme is confirmed.
A change to an alternative non-permit programme does not by itself constitute cancellation of the entire Day Tour when the confirmed Day Tour can otherwise reasonably operate.
No particular watchtower, creek or forest route is guaranteed unless specifically confirmed and still permitted on the date of travel.
10. Forest and wildlife
Forest access is regulated. Guests must comply with crew and authority instructions and, where a forest-permit programme is confirmed, Forest Guide instructions. Wildlife is natural and no tiger or other species sighting is guaranteed.
11. Guest details and permissions
Accurate guest information and any identification/details required after booking for permissions must be submitted by the stated deadline. A guest may be unable to travel or enter a regulated area if required information is missing, inaccurate or rejected by the relevant authority. Foreign nationals may have additional document requirements.
12. Comfort and suitability
Max Adventures is naturally ventilated, open-air and non-AC. Guests are responsible for considering whether the early start, road travel, jetty boarding, weather and open-air conditions suit their group. Medical, mobility, pregnancy, age-related or other concerns should be discussed before confirmation, but the operator does not provide medical advice.
13. Food and dietary requests
Menu and meal timing may change with availability and operations. Vegetarian requests and serious dietary/allergy information must be provided before confirmation. The team will state what can reasonably be accommodated; an unconfirmed special request is not guaranteed.
14. Safety and conduct
Guests must follow crew and authority instructions and, where applicable, Forest Guide instructions; use safety equipment as directed; supervise children; avoid unsafe movement or leaning beyond railings; and refrain from behaviour that endangers, seriously disturbs or unlawfully affects other guests, staff, wildlife or the environment. Loud party-style entertainment is not part of the Max Adventures shared format.
15. Private tours and transport
A private booking reserves the confirmed boat arrangement for the named group, subject to the written confirmation. It does not provide private forest zones, exclusive watchtowers, exemption from regulations or guaranteed wildlife. Private Max Adventures journeys remain naturally ventilated and non-AC.
For private tours, Kolkata pickup and/or drop is optional and is not automatically included unless stated in the written confirmation. Guests may reach the agreed boarding point independently or request a customised transfer. Any transfer arrangement, vehicle, timing and applicable charge will be confirmed before booking.
16. Private forest programme
A private forest programme is subject to permit availability, authority approval and operating conditions. The Shared Day Tour minimum of 9 confirmed guest slots does not apply to private tours. The quotation or confirmation will state whether a forest-permit programme is included. A Forest Guide is included only when forest permission is confirmed. An alternative non-permit Sundarban river and mangrove route may be offered where permission is unavailable.
17. Weather, force majeure and authority action
Severe weather, natural events, authority restrictions, strikes, road disruption or other circumstances beyond reasonable control may require a route change, postponement or cancellation. If the entire confirmed trip cannot operate, the operator-cancellation provision in the Cancellation & Rescheduling Policy will apply.
18. Cancellation, rescheduling and refunds
The owner-approved cancellation/rescheduling terms applicable to the selected tour format are published on the Cancellation & Rescheduling Policy page and form part of the booking terms. Guest-requested changes remain subject to notice, availability, applicable charges and any price difference for the new date.

19. Personal belongings
Guests remain responsible for personal belongings. Any assistance offered in locating a lost item does not amount to an assumption of unlimited liability.
20. Website content
Website content is provided to explain the current experience and may be updated. Images are illustrative of the boat and environment; weather, water, vegetation, menu and route naturally vary.
21. Intellectual property
Unless otherwise stated, the site’s original branding, copy, design and owned media may not be commercially reproduced without permission.
22. Third-party services
WhatsApp, payment services, analytics, hosting and linked websites operate under their own terms. Max Adventures is not responsible for an external service beyond the extent required by applicable law.
23. Governing jurisdiction
These terms are governed by applicable Indian law. Subject to applicable consumer-law rights and mandatory jurisdiction, disputes relating to the operator/booking will be subject to courts at Kolkata, West Bengal.
